  They said the backup was corrupt due to a bit flip maybe caused by a faulty hdd or defekt hardware sensor. We never really found the reason for that error
  it was impossible to rescue the backup

  noris, I'd like to know that support team said about the issue, not about your request, I konw that is great idea :) In their opinion, how could be possible that the backups has been corrupted?
