Wireless: SMS Passcode for HotSpot
Add a fourth variant for hotspot type "SMS Passcode". User enters his mobile phone number into captive portal, and will obtain a passcode via SMS. Just got this requirement today from a partner, who wants to set up a free public wifi hotspot this way for a customer...
Setup an hotspot page where guests insert name, surname and cell phone.
UTM will connect to a SMS gateway like clickatell and send the automatically created voucher code, in the same time the system will map the voucher to the guest name so that in case of investigation it will be possible to identifiy the guest from the voucher code.
As part of the Sophos UTM V9.3 release.

Why do you remove this in 9.310?

Any chance we can use GSM dongle connected to UTM to send SMS Passcode from HotSpot. Don't want to setup with external gateway, and can easily get unlimited TXT dongle ?
Could be covered by previous custom provider for SMS Gateway ?

What about custom provider for SMS Gateway?
Afterwards I want to see SMS-notification for several alarms.

Works now with Firmware version 9.308-16! Great.

How is the Status here? Feature was not released with 9.3. For use as public Hotspot we need this. Email Authenticated as 2nd option will be fine. This is now Standard for such a solution. Thx
kindly advice or suggest anything about the device name, because right now in dubai is mandatory also, and i need to setup this kind of device for my cafe shop restaurant.

This could be much easier if the web protection subscription could have a captive redirection. I'm working on a solution for it ( http://rx.tx.no/?p=56 ).

This function is mandatory for ISPs. The law compliance would also be eased and.
It would be awesome if the #'s could be checked against a preconfigured list before sending the SMS as well. If only to block abusers.
I am interesetd in a solution, will keep watching.

Phonefactor, SMSPassword are good options here. Tested and tried them both including support and working out roi. Had a really bad experience with Securenvoy when it took the whole test server down (support was a waste of time so binned that quickly)
Absolutely agreed with Sascha
It become mandatory here in France too
for the same reasons : tracking and identifying the user
how is managed the access to captive portal in v9 beta?

We use SecurEnvoy's solution - has soft tokens, SMS options the lot... and a lot simpler to integrate with my box

is a must have for us as ISP!

This also would ease up to be law compliant, as user tracking due mobile phone number, which is unique
