To make it usefull, please provide an snmp or ssh way to reset a single tunnel without disabling and re-enabling the whole ipsec module. This way we can restart a failed tunnel, which is probably the goal of this feature?
(Or even better: have the Astaro reset it's own tunnel, it knows wehen it's failed, i see the red trafficlight in the webinterface, restarting it should be simple. -

I can't believe this is not already there! Please add it! So many other alerts are there, how did this one get missed?

If you have ASG's on both sides of the tunnel, a status tunnel down alert would suffice because the side with the internet connection still up would be able to provide the alert. I would dump all my votes for this feature if I could. I have site with a single internet connection that we rely on VOIP, Credit card authorization and Online ordering. When my internet goes down, it puts me out of business.

We need to check status of side 2 side vpns via SNMP (better snmp v3) or a e-mail notification if a tunnel is down.

Good idea! This is part of a larger issue: having the Astaro send alerts for pre-defined issues. Although it's possible to do this outside the Astaro, it makes sense to have an option to supply an "Alert Email Address" for interfaces, VPN services, Availability Groups, etc.
