Device Wipe via SMS message
Upon request sent in by one of our customers:
Many employees are on GSM-roaming in foreign countries and advised by the company to use data roaming only when they really need it.
The most critical point is that a device wipe will fail in most of these cases.
A device wipe on Androids by an encrypted SMS command would be desirable (smartMan once had this).
The integration as a command bundle option would be nice.
Given the new architecture of Android, starting with Android 4.4. where one app is the recipient of all text messages (SMS), this can no longer be achieved. Google Hangout is already the default app in most cases. For all other phones, Google pushes hard to make it the default setting. Therefore, this functionality cannot be guaranteed any longer.

I recently got another request where a customer wants to wipe via a special SMS from the Admin Portal/SSP just in case there is no WiFi and/or mobile data connection. SMSec is still providing this feature - Why should the 'Control' app not be capable of that feature?
Prospect in my region are also afraid that if the smartphone is lost or stolen (and the SIM card is changed) and the device has no data connection nor WiFi - the wipe command is not possible and would be highly appreciated in those scenarios.
